About Us
The New Jersey Storytelling Network [NJSN] was founded in February 2002 as a New Jersey non-profit organization and gained 501c3 status in October 2007. The purpose of the network is to encourage and promote storytelling in New Jersey.
Goals -
To collect and preserve the oral tradition.
To make storytelling events and storytellers readily available to the public.
To encourage storytelling as educational enrichment at all levels of learning.
To encourage and aid storytellers in the pursuit of their art.
To foster storytelling with the potential to inspire, to enlighten & to entertain.
Activities – The NJSN website includes story events, resources, and a directory of storytellers in the New Jersey area, connecting the public with opportunities to appreciate the art of storytelling.
