From Durga’s fiery Temple dances in Bali to Tutu Pele’s volcanic eruptions on Hawaii, storyteller and intrepid traveler Regina Ress (recently returned from India) weaves tales of her own storied journeys through ancient myth, exotic lands, and the ecstasy experienced when we step out of our comfort zones into non-ordinary reality.
The Goddess shows up, as do wise old men, young and old lovers, some gorgeous landscapes, and deeper understanding of the human heart’s immense capacity
for love. (Appropriate for adults and youth 14 and older.)
Regina Ress, longtime resident of Greenwich Village, has performed and taught from Broadway to Brazil, from homeless shelters and prisons to Lincoln Center and the White House. She’s told stories in English and Spanish in numerous national and international festivals and September will mark her 25th year performing in Central Park. Recipient of NSN’s Oracle Award, she teaches storytelling for NYU’s Educational Theatre and the Multilingual/Multicultural Studies Programs and has produced Storytelling at the Provincetown Playhouse since 2003.
