A Jury of Her Peers/Sometimes I Sing

_Milbre Burch tells NSN _2018.jpg

Provincetown Playhouse founder Susan Glaspell wrote her one-act masterwork, Trifles, in 1916, then adapted it as a short story, “A Jury of her Peers.” Both were based on the real-life murder trial of an abused Iowa farmwife. GRAMMY-nominated storyteller Milbre Burch pairs an adaptation of the short story with Sometimes I Sing, an original monologue written as a sequel to Trifles. Sharing the story of Glaspell’s unseen protagonist Minnie Foster Wright, Burch gives voice to female resistance and resilience in a man’s world. kindcrone.com
