“Our whole life is our library where personal memories are the books we are
looking for.” Donald Davis
Anyone who heard Ken Karnas tell his story at last year’s NJ Storytelling Festival
knows he has been fruitfully mining the area of memoir. Everyone has a story to
tell. Come listen to samples of memoir and explore this storytelling genre. Ken
will discuss why we tell these stories, how best to tell them, how to mine for the
best stories and how to use this genre to enhance your fiction.
Ken is a retired elementary/middle school teacher and a member of the Story
Weavers and the New Jersey Storytelling Guild. He has told stories in the
classroom, at community events, and at the NJ Storytelling Festival.
