Art Talk: Flight Path Community Project

Virtual event hosted by Princeton Public Library, Princeton, NJ

Storyteller Maria LoBiondo and members of the Princeton Artists Directory (PAD) will present and discuss the works they created as a response to Flight Path, on exhibit on the first floor of the Princeton Public Library through Jan 24.

Flight Path is the initiative of British artist Louisa Crispin, who is increasingly concerned with the loss of insect habitat and damage to the pollinator communities on which we rely so strongly. The collaborative project invited artists to draw, paint, and in LoBiondo’s case, use collage as a backdrop for a folk tale, on a single “concertina” paper strip that Crispin provided to encourage a look at their own environment and reconsider their connections with nature, and what we can each do to improve Flight Paths.

The work is a “satellite” of the UK Flight Path Community Project and is the only one in the US. After display at Princeton Public Library, all the PAD artists’ work will be returned to Crispin for further exhibition opportunities in the UK.
