Howdy Stranger's - Halloween Improv Comedy Show

  • Hackensack Performing Arts Center 102 State Street Hackensack, NJ, 07601 United States (map)

Hackensack’s professional improv team, Howdy Stranger, performs their annual fan-favorite Halloween comedy show, the Improv Zombie Apocalypse, at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19th, at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC). Audience members are encouraged to dress up for fun or to participate in a costume contest for a chance to win a prize.

As haunted as it is hysterical, the first part of their show features interactive games made popular by the tv show, “Whose Line is it, Anyway?” but with a Halloween twist. Tensions rise when the players become stranded during an improvised zombie apocalypse. Who are the characters? Where do they take shelter? Which will survive? The audience decides it all in this highly interactive and hilarious show.

Winners of the “NYC Tournament of Improvisers,” Howdy Stranger has been making audiences laugh for over 15 years. The team features comedians Ryan Huban, Dreena Moran, Chris Fitzgerald, and Josh Hurley, with Mike Brown as the host. Their 90-minute, game-show style performances are completely made up on-the-spot, so audience members are prompted to shout ideas to inspire every scene.

Howdy Stranger shows are family-friendly, but due to the unpredictable nature of improv, parents are cautioned there may be adult themes and/or language unsuitable for young children.
